Mondial VTT 2010 / Draille Bikes: French MTB Summer Event Recap

June 19, 2010 - The largest mountain bike event of the summer in France was held this past weekend.  Draille Bike, the French distributor for CHUMBA Racing was on hand to represent the bikes and the company.  Plenty of F5s and VF2s were spotted along the event, and many engaged in a fun day of friendly competition and riding!

The CHUMBA VF2 takes on the Maxiavalanche Vallnord Europe Cup

Maxiavalanche Europe Cup in Vallnord
More than 400 MTB downhill riders made the descent on rugged and harsh descents from PicCubil Peak, at 2,350 metres, to the village of Massana in Andorra. 

Representing for CHUMBA Racing was Gavarres Bikes, fully decked out in CHUMBA gear, riding the all-mountain VF2 outfitted with Fox 36 forks and rear shocks.  

Gavarres Bikes successfully navigated the course, with enough suspension on the VF2 to endure the punishing downhills but using the pedaling efficiency and precise handling of the VF2 chassis to overcome all obstacles.

Thanks again for all your guys help, 2010 has been an awesome year so far, I rounded up the Fontana Winter Series at the 2010 Fontana City National with a 4th place in expert. I then headed to the Sea Otter Classic for both dual slalom and downhill. I qualified 5th in expert for dual slalom and worked my way into the Finals on Friday where i ended up with a 4th. Downhill i had a mechanical with my bottom bracket and was basically with out a drive train and brought home a 40th out of 100. The following wednesday I left for the first Pro Grt in Port Angeles, Washington.

The course was very fast and physical, the conditions changed day to day with rain one day sun the next then a little of both for finals on Sunday. I finished up with an 11th out of 65 with a nice smooth run. I have about a month off of racing now before we get back inot the swing of things with the Chile Challenge in Angel Fire, NM and then up to northstar for the next round of the Pro Grt. I will be racing in the MSC series, NW Cup, Pro GRT, Crankworks in Cananda, Fluid Ride Cup, National Champs, and hopefully the final round of the UCI World Cup in Winham, NY. The bikes have running flawlessly and I look forward to showing what I can do on them!
